Next you'll meet your doctor, discuss your symptoms and complete a thorough examination.Your doctor will review your health history and discuss your health problems with you. Then she'll complete a thorough, painless physical examination — orthopedic, neurological and chiropractic. If x-rays are necessary, they'll be recommended at this point. We have on-site x-ray equipment, so they can be taken quickly. It won't be necessary to schedule x-rays at some other location. Once the examination is complete, your doctor will schedule a follow-up appointment to report the results of your examination, discuss the cause, and make a plan to resolve it.
Your follow-up visitOn your next visit to Watkins Chiropractic, your doctor will report the findings of your physical examination, review your x-rays, and discuss your problem at length with you. Then, if she believes that chiropractic care is advisable, she'll recommend a course of treatment. If your doctor believes that chiropractic treatment can not help your problem, she will recommend an alternate course of action, or a medical physician in our community. Your treatment scheduleIf a course of chiropractic treatment is recommended, you will be completely informed of the treatment methods and the cost before any further treatment is scheduled. An adjustment is simply a method of applying precise pressure to your spinal column to encourage the movement of vertebrae back into their natural positions. TherapyIce, heat, traction, ultrasound, or electrical muscle stimulation are usually prescribed as part of your chiropractic treatment. These therapies are pleasant treatments designed to relax muscle tension and enable your body to accept chiropractic adjustments with more comfort and ease. Massage TherapyIn certain instances, massage therapy may be recommended as part of your treatment. Massage has numerous health benefits, and is often beneficial when your muscles are especially tense due to trauma or stress and are interfering the healing benefits of your adjustments.
